Purchasing/Payment

 

For UK buyers only (others please enquire first), simply add the item to the shopping cart.  You will then be directed to PayPal's secure site for payment. We do not see your card details and your security is maintained through PayPal; you don't need to already have an account to buy from us using your credit card.  For more information on how to use Paypal if you don't have an account either check the information on their website at Paypal.co.uk, or view the details once you start using our shopping cart.  If you have any questions, please let us know.

 

Please note.  Frustratingly, the Paypal cart does not delete stock from the website, so if two people purchase the same item on the same day, then the first buyer will get priority.  Sorry, but we have not yet found a way to get around this problem!  If a duplicate piece can be produced for the second buyer, we will let them know, otherwise a full refund will be given.

 

If you live in the UK, you can purchase by cheque or postal order (payable to G Slone).  Please email us to reserve the item in question.  We will confirm your request and the item will be held for seven days following receipt of your initial email pending receipt of your payment.  Items not paid for after seven days will be relisted for sale.   Despatch will be made once your payment has cleared.  When sending a cheque, please include your name, address, email address and details of the item that you require. 

 

If you live locally, please get in touch if you want to arrange collection.

Delivery

 

In most cases we aim to despatch all orders within three working days, but please allow up to fourteen days for delivery.  If you require the items urgently, please let us know and we will do our very best to meet your requirements.  Should it be likely that your order will be delayed, we will contact you and advise you of the expected despatch date, other than in the case of holiday closure when notice will be posted on the website as to what date deliveries are resumed.

 

If your item does not arrive after fourteen days or arrives damaged, please contact us.  We may need your help to process a claim through Royal Mail and this would be appreciated as lack of all the information can impede any claim/refund. 

Postage

 

Jewellery usually comes in either a gift box or pouch and is sent by signed, insured delivery.  Unless otherwise stated, the following prices apply to UK mainland only.  Please contact us if you live outside this delivery area.

A signature will be required for all items sent and should the order be returned to us as undeliverable, it will be held by us until we have contacted you to confirm that the goods are still required.  We reserve the right to charge the purchaser for any additional postage costs incurred for re-sending the item and postage is non-refundable in any eventuality.

Returns

 

Should any item be damaged upon receipt, please notify us within seven days of receipt and return the item (including gift box or pouch).  Once the item is returned, we will contact you to discuss your requirements as to refund/replacement and will deal with any refund/replacement within 30 days.  We may need your help to process a claim through Royal Mail and this would be appreciated as lack of all the information can impede any claim/refund. 

If you are not completely happy with your purchase, please return it to us within seven days of receipt in its original, unused condition complete with box or pouch for refund (with the exception of custom commissions/adjustments).  Please note that all postage costs are non-refundable and must be borne by the purchaser.  An additional 25p transaction fee will be deducted from any refund if the item was purchased via PayPal.   When returning goods, please include details of your name, address, email address and reason for return.

 

We cannot accept responsibly for goods lost or damaged whilst being returned to us for any reason and can only issue a refund against items received by us.  We therefore recommend that a secure/insured postal service is used such as Recorded Delivery or Special Delivery.  A deduction may be made from any refund for damages or shortages due to inadequate packing.

 

We do not normally offer refunds against custom commissions/adjustments, other than if the item is faulty or damaged.  However, please contact us should this instance arise.

 

Other than being faulty or damaged, under no circumstances can refunds or exchanges be given on earrings due to hygiene regulations.  Should you return a multi-part set that includes earrings, then a deduction may be made from any refund given to allow for the cost of replacing the earrings.

 

Refunds can only be given against sets if the whole set is returned to us.  Single items from a set may not be kept unless by prior agreement with us.

Refunds are not available against instructions or patterns purchased from us.

Adjustments/commissions

 

Please contact us before buying if you require any adjustments (ie extend/shorten the length, add beads to cover bare wire (as in floating style necklaces)).  Once we have agreed the adjustment, price and timescale, you must then purchase and pay for the item at the agreed/revised price - we will advise you by email how to proceed.  If you have received an item, want to keep it but need it adjusting, please get in touch to discuss your requirements and we will be happy to give you a quote.  The ability to adjust a piece will depend upon the style of necklace and availability of materials.  Once an adjustment has been agreed then the item will be considered commission work and as the piece has been adapted specifically for you, we will not normally be able to offer refunds.

 

Commissions can be undertaken - please contact us for your requirements and for ordering information.  Many pieces are unique, but it is sometimes possible to repeat work or produce items in different colours.  Earrings can often be made to match a design.  The price of commissions may vary depending on the colour and type of beads used, even if the design is the same as one already featured.

Other Information

 

The appearance of some colours may vary slightly from the actual item due to influences such as flash photography and varying computer monitor displays.

 

We avoid using products that we know easily suffer from loss of colour (such as dyed or galvanised seed beads), but we cannot guarantee indefinite colour fastness in beads, metal or findings as they do react to outside influences over time such as body chemicals, perfumes, heat, light etc.   Semi precious gemstones, shell, bone etc are obvoiusly made from natural products and, because of this, may have naturally occuring flaws, irregularities, slight roughness and variations in colour and finish.

Unless otherwise stated, "gold" and "silver" refer only to colour.  If Sterling Silver or Vermeil Gold (Sterling Silver with a plating of carat gold) is used then this will be stated.  References to "topaz", "turquoise", "amethyst" etc refer to colour only unless the description specifically states that these semi-precious stones are included. 

 

Under the Data Protection Act, we will only obtain information from you in order to process your order, deal with any enquiries or provide you with any other service you may request.  The information we will obtain will generally be your name, address, email address and telephone number.  This information will be held securely and will not be distributed to a third party.   All credit/debit card transactions are dealt with through PayPal and we do not see such details.
